ECO-RESPONSIBILITY, AN OBVIOUS
We are citizens, mothers, naturally very concerned and concerned about the situation of our planet. As a brand, doing things correctly is no longer an option or a focus of communication: it is a necessity , a prerequisite .
We know that fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world, yet we will always have to dress ourselves, dress our children, it is up to us to do things as best as possible.
For Frangin Frangine, we focus our efforts on this eco-responsibility : local production, materials
organic, zero waste purchasing, upcycling, controlled consumption, quality and lifespan of products.
EUROPEAN PRODUCTION
Our pieces are designed in Paris by us -Aude, Mylène- and the whole team, developed by the team, then produced in Europe .
We met Dimitri from the start of the adventure - who produces our warp and weft in Bulgaria - then Sonia, who produces jersey in Portugal. This is above all a matter of common sense – it is essential for us to be able to easily visit our workshops and to know the manufacturers who produce our parts, with the aim of always working with them hand in hand, and taking advantage of the know-how of each country.
ORGANIC MATERIALS, LABEL ET CIE...
It's not always easy to navigate and we could talk to you about it for hours, but to put it simply there are 2 labels that really matter:
Oeko-Tex , which guarantees the absence of toxic products to respect the environment. All our fabrics are naturally Oeko-tex certified (and this is really an essential basis for us).
GOTS is a “global standard for organic fibers, which includes ecological and social criteria and is based on independent certification of the entire textile supply chain”.
75% of our collections are organic.
We are tending towards 100% but the demand for these materials has exploded, thus increasing the cost and making availability more complicated. We want to keep prices fair, it's a delicate balance to find.
ZERO WASTE
We work on a custom basis , that is to say we “source ” our fabrics and haberdashery accessories ourselves. This allows us to keep control of their provenance and the footage we purchase - so as not to overproduce unnecessarily. In fact, for each piece, our workshop sends us its use of materials and haberdashery, and we only buy what we need.
And if we sometimes have surplus materials, we reuse them all in upcycling collections. Just with a dose of economic and ecological common sense!
Great passion for the iconic Frangin and Frangine sweatshirts. They are cool and for the whole family, and what's more, they are made in Portugal and in 100% organic cotton.
THE KEY NUMBERS
CONTROLLED PRODUCTION
We always seek a fair balance between production and sales, risk-taking and reasoned production. Our business model is absolutely not based on sales or promotions, our margins would not allow us to do so...
But since we don't have a crystal ball, we always have some unsold items left at the end of the season. These pieces then end up on sale at the end of the season in order to avoid unnecessary storage in the warehouse.
